These 11 Unpleasant Feelings Actually Mean You’re On The Right Path

WE ALL EXPERIENCE DISCOMFORT AND STRUGGLES IN LIFE. BUT WHAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW, IS THAT THOSE UNPLEASANT FEELINGS ARE A PRECURSOR TO A VERY IMPORTANT CHANGE.

It’s true. We experience discomfort right before a drastic change. And we tend to mistake that discomfort for unhappiness, causing us to distance ourselves as far away as possible from the very thing that caused us to feel this way- change.

HOWEVER, WE NEED DISCOMFORT.

We need those unpleasant feelings and situations to help us break free from a stagnant life, and to leave thoughts of limits and “can’t” in the past. We receive messages all the time- little signs that show us we are heading in the right direction, or if we need to make a complete U-turn.
Experiencing a feeling of discomfort is a helpful sign that you’re on the right path. And if you are going through any of these 15 unpleasant feelings, keep your chin up- it’s going to get better.

1. REALIZING THERE IS NO SAFETY NET.

You are responsible for yourself, and that means if you mess up, it’s all on you. That can be a bit tough to swallow if you are used to relying on other people to make you happy or fulfill your life.

2. FINDING YOUR VOICE.

Eventually, you get tired of people walking all over you and twisting your words into something they were never meant to be. You will start to feel a need to express yourself, and that means finding your voice. Some people may not like what you have to say, and that’s okay too. Speak with kindness, and the ones who appreciate your honesty will be the ones worth keeping around.

3. KNOWING THERE IS STILL A LONG WAY TO GO.

It’s a comfortable thought to believe we are almost where we want to be. But that’s how stagnation begins to take over your life. Realizing that your goals are not yet achieved might be an unpleasant feeling, but that just means you have something to work towards and accomplish.

4. QUESTIONING WHO YOU ARE.

Who we think we are supposed to be changes drastically as we evolve into better versions of ourselves. And that is exactly what is happening. All those ideas and perceptions are being broken down, and if you’re uncertain about who you are and who you’re going to be, you’re on the right path.

5. ARGUING WITH YOURSELF.

Our thoughts are powerful. They can shape our reality. If you are experiencing several instances where you think one thing, then argue with yourself about the negativity or selfishness of that thought, then don’t fret- you’re not going crazy. You’re finally realizing you have control over your words, and that you’ve had it all along.

6. FEELING LIKE YOUR WORLD IS FALLING APART.

I’ve said those words so many times before. And you know what? I realized that in order for something amazing to be built, the old things that weren’t working needed to be torn down. Out of the rubble, something great will emerge.
We think just because we made a plan for ourselves, that one plan is everything- all we could ever have. But there is more out there, and a lot of it is beyond your plan.

7. YOUR CIRCLE GETS SMALLER.

Friends you have had since childhood, and people you thought would be there till the end, are suddenly leaving your world. You don’t agree on the same things anymore, and those little negative remarks that you once let side now drive you mad. Maybe it’s time for people who are ready to grow with you.

8. FEELING A DEEP DESIRE TO BE ALONE.

Spending time alone is the best way to re-calibrate. Find yourself not wanting to spend as much time socializing with others? Maybe taking some time to reflect on where you are, where you’re going, and what you really want in life should be on the agenda instead.

9. HAVING AN UNPREDICTABLE SLEEPING PATTERN.

Waking up at odd hours of the night, getting too little or too much sleep, and  experiencing intense dreams is a sign that something is going on upstairs. Your subconscious mind is trying to tell you something. Pay attention.

10. EXTREME EMOTIONAL CHANGES.

One minute you’re happy, the next you’re battling between sadness and anger. Normally, you’re emotionally balanced. However, lately things have been difficult to keep centered. This is because even though you are trying to be strong and push everything aside, you really need to give yourself time to focus on you. The things that rise to the surface might be uncomfortable to acknowledge, but they’re important.

11. FEELING “LOST” OR “DIRECTIONLESS.”

We all go through feelings of not knowing what it is we should be doing, or where we are headed. But if you have been feeling forgetful, lost, or like you are just floating through life, then this is a wake up call. The time for motivation is now. What are you passionate about?

YES, WE WILL ALL EXPERIENCE THESE SYMPTOMS OF CHANGE IN OUR LIVES. BUT THE IMPORTANT THING IS RECOGNIZING THAT THEY AREN’T SIGNS OF IMPENDING DOOM- THEY ARE SIGNS OF HOPE.
